Nastee Chapel - Codeine (Live with commentary)

This is a stripped back version of our song Codeine. 0:00 - music 03:04 - chat about the song If you would like to help us record our debut album of 8-10 songs that will include this song, please consider donating to our Kickstarter Campaign that ends on 2nd Novemeber 2022. Kickstarter Link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nasteechapel/record-and-release-music-of-nastee-chapel?ref=user_menu Lyrics: CHORUS Codeine my dream You’re the silent friend I need One to lead me to the woods at night And watch me while I bleed Can’t they see it’s obscene Just what you take from me Like a blanket made of wood and nails You’ll never let me be V1 Bent down double Stretched forth my hand To catch me as I fell But disbelief and apathy would pave my path to hell Oh, legality does not decree Your right to write me out A bullet meant to pacify On deaf ears falls my shout CHORUS V2 As if I didn’t have enough to hold me when I’m down Separate from what I should know, in my own blood I drown Our bodies lay under your hands for countless centuries Blind man’s game with no remorse to test out your theories BRIDGE Don’t try to tell me this is normal That I just can’t take it like they can Don’t try to tell me this is normal I don’t think that you could ever understand. SOLO V3 I followed your words and your lies; I trusted what you said But when I came to criticize it was all just in my head You accept their cheers of trust while you cover me in scars While pedaling a plant can land a person behind bars!
